Nuts About Pecans

Videos — By David on October 19, 2008

There’s a pecan tree in our backyard and it is the best thing ever. They are really good fresh, much tastier than walnuts, and apparently they originated in Texas so it feels fitting having one in the yard. Depending on how windy it is, the amount of pecans I find on the ground each morning can range between 20 to 331. We have more pecans then we know what to do with now, but they’re at least good for you, lots of antioxidants and may help lower cholesterol. So far we’ve made Pecan Pie, Pecan Muffins, Pecan Waffles, Pecan Pancakes, Pecan Apple Pie, and have had them in a bunch of savory dishes and salads as well.

I loves me some pecan pie

  2. Tamara says:

Man, David is such a good (pecan) hunter/gatherer, which should at least appease the vegetarians in the crowd (Troy, I’m looking at you).
    Also: mad tree climbing skillz.

  3. David says:

I edited out the part in the video where Nicole wouldn’t give me a boost up the tree and where the chair tipped over a half-dozen times before I finally figured out to lean it against the trunk.

  4. chaps says:

That Pecan picker upper tool is pretty dope! I can’t even believe this website is real!

  5. David says:

My new record is now 724 Pecans in a single day.
