Greece: Eating Our Way Through the Mainland

Offal, Travel, Videos — By Nicole on August 11, 2009

This summer as part of our big family trip extravaganza, David and I went to Greece to celebrate my sister’s wedding. She was married in a tiny mountain village, where her husband’s family still resides. They were wonderful hosts — to the point where they constructed the village’s first public toilet for the wedding reception. Along the way we had the opportunity to try lots of yummy foods and some surprising delicacies.

  • Head Like A Kite - "Daydream Vacation"
  • Jel - "Grass Skirt No Hat"
  • Chamillionaire - "The Ultimate Vacation"
  • Josh Martinez - "Bobby Loveable" Instrumental
  • Infesticons - "Tiger Theme"
  • Nomad - "At Your House (Zucchini Drive Remix)"
  • Lymbyc Systym - "Truth Skull" (Bibio Remix)
  • Maker - "Snadcastle"
  • Cody Chesnutt - "The World Is Coming to My Party"

LOL!! Ya the eyeball was bad. You should have done a slow-mo replay of Nicole pulling out the eyeball. That was gross. Good job on gobbling that one down Nicole. Awesome video skills too guys.

  2. I love Greek food. And would you look at that saganaki, now I am salivating.

  3. Caitlin says:

Lamb eyeballs, as David says, “They’re not baa-aa-aad at all!”

    you guys are awesome!

  5. David says:

Eyeballs are tasty! Now we definitely want to try cooking all sorts of different heads.

  6. Kathleen says:

You two make George and me feel weak for wimping out on fish eyes during our honeymoon. We ended up feeding the eyes to a cat, which seemed to make everyone happier.

In terms of cooking with heads, I could talk myself into making headcheese, but I don’t want the headcheese to *look* at me, you see what I’m saying?

  7. Barr says:

What a great video! Loved the music selection and placement.

The big seafood extravaganza looked amazing!

  8. George says:

Hi, great video! I feel embarrassed about the 2 euros “cover” charge trick ; good thing you avoided it. Happy you had such a great time in Greece, keep the good food coming ;D

    Cheers,
    Giorgos
